Kiddie Cushion – Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF)
Kiddie Cushion is an Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF) specifically designed for use on playgrounds and play-scape areas. Kiddie Cushion is made from virgin wood sourced from local, lumber mills. Kiddie Cushion does not contain recycled or painted wood, chemically treated wood, or pallets. Most of the Kiddie Cushion is less than 1.5 inches in length. However, this product does contain 10-20% wood fines to aide with compaction. This product is certified through the International Playground Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA). New Earth’s Kiddie Cushion is also certified to meet the ASTM-F2075-15, ASTM-F1292-18, and ASTM-F3351-19e1 standards and tested by TÜV SÜD America.

Kiddie Cushion is typically darker in color when first installed. This is due to the moisture content in the product, which also helps with its soft texture and performance. The product should lighten up in color once installed and exposed to the elements (sunlight, wind, etc.)
This product has the appearance of a typical mulch found in the Conroe region. This is because it is made from the same types of wood used to make “garden mulch” However, this product is much more than a “garden mulch.” It has been through a rigorous manufacturing process and meets all the standards for IPEMA. This process classifies it as an Engineered Wood Fiber or EWF.
